Sanitation and Cleanliness Tourism

Sikkim is India’s First Open Defecation Free State and also one of the cleanest states in the country. The National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) ranked Sikkim as the cleanest state in the country in its 2015 survey. Cleanliness and sanitation are important hallmarks for the people of Sikkim and community level engagement to keep their places cleaner, especially in rural areas is taken up with great gusto. For students traveling to Sikkim to learn and engage in the process of a cleaner India would be a learning by itself.

Sanitation and Cleanliness Tourism would include the following aspects –

2. Visit to the cleanest village in Sikkim and understand how they work towards their sanitation
